After dropping out of art school on a scholarship, Nelson transitioned into a career in hotels after realizing his passion for the service industry.
Nelson spent twelve years in Boston's luxury hotel scene working in positions varying from busboy to sales manager. In 2013, Nelson left his hotel career behind and opened a small restaurant, JJ's Caffe, with his father in their hometown of Brockton, MA. In four years, they were able to grow the restaurant into one of the top 100 places to eat in the nation, according to Yelp. Applying the same business principles he learned while owning a restaurant, Nelson decided to dive into real estate forming a new company, Nvidius Development, in 2016, focusing on investment and development.
Nelson has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Metro South Chamber of Commerce, named South Shore's 40 Under 40 and also holds a Black Belt in Taekwondo. Nelson currently sits on the the Board of Directors for the Montello Business Association and the Metro South Chamber of Commerce and is also a member of the Citizens Advisory Council for the Brockton Redevelopment Authority.
